Barnet is a small town located in the south of the Northeast Kingdom. Five villages along the Connecticut river make up the town. Main attractions are Harvey's Lake, Ben's Mill, and the well-known meditation retreat Karme Choling. Water is the main power resource in this town. From rivers to streams this location maintains over fifty bridges. The town nestles in the Green Mountains and villagers enjoy maple sugaring, hunting, and other outdoor recreation. The scenery is exceptional in the foliage, summer, and winter seasons. This town has a local general store, school, specialty shops, churches, and historic buildings.
